All students at SPS are included in the regular education curriculum. SPS believes that students with exceptional educational needs should be served in appropriate classrooms and views access to the general education program as essential to all students. However, in addition to the regular instruction time, special education services may also include specialized, research-based interventions as deemed appropriate by the multidisciplinary team. SPS also will provide transition services, assistive technology, and other support services deemed necessary by the multidisciplinary team.
Students eligible for protections under IDEA and Section 504 are subject to the same disciplinary procedures as their non-disabled peers in accordance with the regulations specified by IDEA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
