Hi Spartanburg Preparatory School Students, Families, and Community Members!
I am Shakara Morrison-Shuford, and I am excited to serve as your middle/high school Assistant Principal! I am a proud product of Spartanburg District 3, where I graduated from Broome High School. I then graduated from Wofford College (Go Terriers!) in 2010. I began my teaching career in Winston-Salem, NC as a high school English teacher. From there I moved to the Durham/Chapel Hill area to serve first as an English teacher, and then as a Gifted Specialist. I made the leap into administration by being accepted into the NC Principal Fellow program. I completed a yearlong administrator internship at Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, NC. For the last four years, I have served as a high school, and then middle school, assistant principal with Rutherford County Schools, NC.
My WHY: I’m an educator to create an environment where students feel comfortable expressing their greatness, where teachers are well equipped and supported to do the work they love, and where parents/guardians feel they are partners in their child’s education.
I am so excited to be home again and cannot wait to meet and serve you all! Please feel free to contact me: (864) 621-3882 or [email protected].
