How did I get here? 

I took over for the 5th grade teacher I student taught for, in District 5. I decided to go into another profession after that year. In 2009, my beautiful daughter was born. My love for her rekindled my love for all children and education. When Abby began kindergarten, I volunteered as much as I could. That quickly turned to substitute teaching and then to recertification and adding another certification. I fell in love with the students who make SPS. The seeds we plant, return to us as flowers. I have worked with most grades, however I took over for a 4th grade class, then I moved to 2nd grade boys and then to 1st grade girls. I LOVE TEACHING 1ST GRADE! Last year my kind, loving and caring colleagues chose me as their Teacher of the Year. I am grateful for the love! 

I am so happy that 4H and Spartanburg Humane Society teamed up to create Pet Pals and Junior Vet Clubs. I am the PROUD sponsor of both these programs and am looking forward to their return to SPS. I have rescued animals in South Carolina for over 15 years.
